Obituary for Cassidy Angeline Palmer at Duggan Dolan Mortuary (2024)

Our beautiful angel, Cassidy Angeline Palmer left this earth on July 03, 2024. Cassidy’s life was way too short; however, we will be forever blessed that we got to experience her laughter, infectious smile, and kind heart. Cassidy will be deeply missed by us all and the imprints she left on our hearts will be forever remembered.

Cassidy was welcomed into this world by her elated parents Scott and Sherrie, along with her excited brother Wyatt on September 04, 2001, in Butte, MT. On her first birthday, Cassidy’s family relocated to Highlands Ranch, CO. At an early age, Cassidy was known to be shy and illuminated with innocence. She truly was the cutest little girl. Inherently, she was very smart and competitive as well. Wyatt quickly recognized how lethal the combination would be. Most of their conflicts ended the same way; Wyatt received a stern talking and Cassidy’s innocent look transformed into a devious smirk as mom or dad left the room.

She started soccer at 4 years old and played through high school; Cassidy developed into the most tenacious midfielder. She was a joy to watch play the game with so much determination, hustle, toughness, and overall skill. She enjoyed playing and cherished the relationships with all the girls and coaches.

Cass went to Eldorado Elementary School. Her sixth-grade teacher happened to operate a cross-fit gym and offered family memberships. Cassidy was overly excited to share this terrific news to her family and was not going to take no for an answer. This family endeavor led by Cassidy ended up being one of their most rewarding experiences with her. Cassidy was always the first to be jumping out of bed for daily 5:30 am classes to wake up the family. She pushed her dad to participate in the Spartan Race at Fort Carson where she required an age waiver to compete. Cassidy not only finished first in the 18 and under division, but she also completed the course alongside her brother and coach; landing in the top 10 overall for female competitors. Coach always reminded Cass she had what it takes to be a national cross-fit competitor. This rigorous routine continued as an important part of her life. She routinely sent her family videos of her new personal bests, eventually leaving her brother in disbelief where he replied, “I’ve never squatted that much weight.” Cassidy was a force of nature and an inspiration to her family and others.

She had the biggest heart and always tried to make everyone feel accepted. She gravitated towards individuals enduring mental challenges. Her love for the special needs community inspired her dream to one day become an occupational therapist.

Cassidy had a tremendous love for music, and knew about every song, artist, and genre. Anyone who thought of Cass, knew her music. She always said, she should have been a teen in the 80’s! And try playing name that tune with her, because she knew the song by the second or third beat! She also loved arts and crafts as well, just one more thing at which she was talented.

Cassidy loved animals dearly. She was always pitching a scheme to her parents to acquire her next pet. Home from spring break in 2023, Cassidy took Mom to a pet store - just to look. Despite Dad’s disapproval, Cassidy and Mom ended up with their new dog, Rue. Recently, Cass still yearned for her own companion and rescued an 18-month-old dog, Bruno.

Cassidy graduated from ThunderRidge High School in 2020. After touring a handful of colleges, she decided on returning to her hometown to attend Montana Tech where she still had so many family members and friends. Cassidy was proud of her Butte heritage and educated herself with the culture and history. While in Butte, Cassidy was also working at St. James Hospital for SCL Health as a Health & Wellness Assistant. She graduated with high honors with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Health Sciences May 2024, and was awarded a full ride scholarship for a Master’s program in Industrial Hygiene, and a 2025 paid internship. She always made her family proud and had a bright and promising future ahead of her.

Cass and Sherrie have the most special Mother and Daughter relationship that will always be cherished. They were in sync with each other in so many ways whether it was via their thoughts, conversations about anything and everything, wearing the same style of clothes or shoes, and all the highs and lows a day could bring. Not a day went by without many phone calls, or text messages. More than Mother and Daughter, they were best friends. They shared everything with each other and relied upon each other for advice, support, or just to check in with each other from the miles between Butte and Colorado.

Our dear Cassidy had internal struggles and challenges which no one could fully understand. Her beautiful smile and personality that lit up a room concealed this overwhelming weight. If she could only have realized how big of a positive impact, she had on so many of us. We love you Cassidy, you left us far too soon and we are broken without you. You will forever live in our hearts. Rest in Peace Cassidy!
